The palm and the technique used to make these bracelets are known by the same name, "werregue." Traditionally, werregue baskets are woven so tightly, they are considered to be water-tight. These bracelets form part of the artisanal heritage of the Nonam Naan indigenous community from the Chocó region of Colombia. The bracelets are woven by hand using fiber from the werregue palm by the Maachden artisan group led by María Iris Dura Obispo and Luis Fernando Piraza.
Please be aware that because these items are handmade, there may be small imperfections in the items. No two items will be identical.
